Paternity (including fathers and non-birthing parents)
We recognise the importance of family and the special role that fathers or non-birthing parents play in the early stages of a child’s life. Paternity leave is a valued part of our commitment to supporting work-life balance and the wellbeing of our team members.
We encourage all eligible employees to take the time they need to bond with their new child and support their family during this meaningful transition. Whether it’s your first child or a new addition to a growing family, we’re here to support you.
To help us plan effectively and ensure a smooth experience for you and your team, we kindly ask that you notify your manager and HR as early as possible when planning your paternity/parental leave. Early communication allows us to provide the best support and ensure continuity for everyone involved.
Paternity Policy
You will find the policy information here.

Please note, paternity is a legal term which we must use when referring to the leave available to someone who is not taking either maternity leave or adoption leave. While paternity has historically and linguistically referred to the father in a family, in this context it legally covers the rights of the caregiver who is not accessing maternity or adoption leave. For example, in a family with two mothers, one may be legally entitled to maternity or adoption leave, while the other must take paternity leave.
We understand that language matters and it can feel invalidating to navigate a process that does not fully reflect the experiences of many same-sex, gender-fluid, and/or non-binary parents. Although we are legally required to follow these definitions, we want to acknowledge that they do not always align with the diverse identities and realities of modern families. As an organisation, we are committed to inclusivity and will continue to advocate for more representative and affirming language and policies wherever possible.
